Pastor Michael W. Thomas, Sr. of Elba, Alabama, was raised in a close-knit, faith-centered community brimming with love and embodies that same spirit today. From an early age, he cultivated a deep compassion for serving and caring his community. A proud graduate of Elba High School in 1992, he enhanced his skills at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, earning certifications in welding, automotive mechanics, and roofing—essential trades that support his ministry work.

Pastor Thomas is a beacon of hope and compassion for the youth, often sharing his own journey from a life entangled in gang violence and alcoholism to one transformed by faith. In 2001, Pastor Thomas relocated to Houston, Texas, where he formally acknowledged his calling to preach the gospel in 2004. He faithfully served in ministry in various capacities including pastoral adjutant, Sunday School teacher, caring for the senior saints, street ministry, and tending to the upkeep of the Lord’s house. Indeed, Elder Thomas' life exemplifies Ecclesiastes 9:10a: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.” He was licensed as a minister in 2008, graduated from the T.D. Iglehart School of Ministry in 2015, and in 2017, was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ by of the late Bishop Samuel E. Iglehart in Texas Southwest Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.

 

On March 21, 2026, Elder Michael Thomas was officially installed as the Pastor of Prince of Peace Church of God in Christ. This sacred appointment was admistered based on the recommendation of our respected church founders, Pastor Emeritus Miliam and Missionary Helen Allen, under the divine episcopal oversight of Bishop Maurice Green Jr., Prelate of the Texas Southwest First Jurisdiction.

 

God has placed a burning desire within Pastor Michael Thomas for to guide others to know the freedom and joy that comes with accepting Jesus Christ as their personal savior and experience the many benefits of having a personal relationship with God. His hands and feet are dedicated to being a right now demonstration of Jesus' compassion in the earth, and his voice is a trumpet declaring the gospel of Jesus Christ, sharing divine insight to empower Christians to victoriously daily living.

 

Serving faithfully by his side is Lady Cindi Thomas of whom they have been blessed to enjoy over 20 years of marriage. A licensed Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God in Christ, Lady Cindi is committed to show the care and love of Jesus Christ. She also lives a life dedicated to the improvement and development of people naturally, spiritually and professionally as a Registered Nurse. To this Godly union, they are the proud parents of three beautiful, accomplished children, Michael, Jr., Christopher, and Hannah.
